Design and build of new website for Orbital Foods, Bury St Edmunds.

The Challenge

Orbital Foods in Bury St Edmunds first approached us to take on the maintenance of their legacy WordPress website. From the outset several areas were identified where improvements were needed, in particular the performance of the website and mobile compatibility. Whilst we maintained the old website for some time and made minor improvements, we proposed that a new website was required in order for substantial improvements.

The Solution

We redesigned and rebuilt a new website using the WordPress platform and WooCommerce. The website design reflects the Orbital Foods branding, whilst also being fresh and well matched to their industry. The functionality on the website was enhanced, including a quoting facility – which allows visitors to add multiple machines and submit details in order to receive a quote. As part of the new website development, we migrated over 1000 products from the old website.

Results

Orbital are pleased with the new website and even on the day it was launched, they received positive feedback.

Speed tests were done and pages on the new website loaded over twice as fast as they did on the old website.

In addition the website is fully responsive, working properly on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

We continue to work with Orbital to improve and optimise their website more in order to generate even more enquiries, as part of a bespoke care plan.
